About Casinos by Province
Casinos by Province is an independent guide to online gambling in Canada, province by province. Gambling in Canada is run by the provinces, so the rules, the legal age and the official options are different in British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba or Nova Scotia. We explain them in plain language and keep them up to date.
Independent guide. Not a government website and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any provincial lottery corporation, regulator or casino. Brand names belong to their owners.
How We Research
- Laws, legal ages and provincial gambling options come from official sources: the Criminal Code, provincial statutes, regulators and the provincial lottery corporations’ own pages. We link to them on every page.
- When we write about a provincial platform such as PlayNow or Sport Select, we describe it from its public rules and help pages. We are not connected to it.
- Where something is unclear or disputed, we say so instead of guessing.
- Every page shows the date it was last checked.
How We Make Money
Some pages may contain affiliate links to online casinos: if you sign up through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes the legal and provincial facts we publish. Casino offers are never shown to visitors from Ontario or Alberta. Read our affiliate disclosure.
Who Writes Our Guides
Our guides are written by Otto von Stierlitz — a pen name used by the site’s editor. We use a pen name to keep the author’s private life separate from gambling-related work; it is the same person behind every article. The author is not a lawyer, and nothing on this site is legal advice.
